NARRATIVE

During taxi to the loading pits for RON the aircraft`s left wingtip came into contact with the edge of a hanger {see photo}.
CORRECTIVE ACTION

Notifications were made to the RASM and RAO for proper routing of the information. The aircraft and area were secured pending additional information gathering. RASM 7/12/2016 the incident remains under review. From a general standpoint, represents a good opportunity to think about Tanker Base ground movement of not just airtankers, but all class of aircraft and support equipment. Clearances, placement of aircraft and equipment and the right amount of trained individuals to facilitate the pilots in safely moving aircraft to requested parking areas are among a few key topics. Additionally Crew resource management applies to ALL and CRM practices should be discussed.
